Position Summary

The Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery (HNS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Audiologist Faculty Position with an emphasis in pediatric cochlear implants. This role is located at the UNC Children’s Cochlear Implant Center within the Department of Otolaryngology/HNS. The position focuses on providing quality clinical care to children from birth to twenty‑one who are deaf or hard of hearing, with a special focus on cochlear implants. The candidate will also conduct clinical research and supervise university audiology students and fellows.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Pediatric cochlear implant audiological evaluations.
• Continued follow‑up of children with cochlear implants.
• Supervision of university audiology students during practicum and fellowships.
• Care of unique patient populations, including bimodal listeners, electro‑acoustic stimulation users, and children with single‑sided deafness.
• Patient and professional outreach, including collaboration with outside providers and educational teams.
• Participation in the rural mobile outreach program.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree and licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of North Carolina.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) years of cochlear implant clinical experience.
• Certificate of clinical competence (CCC‑A) preferred but not required.
