Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Colorado is seeking an Athletic Trainer I to support orthopedic/sports medicine clinics. This entry-level CAP position provides direct patient care, injury evaluation, rehabilitation, casting/bracing, and documentation under supervision.

Focus is on team-based care and clinical efficiency in a pediatric setting. The role offers 1.0 FTE, regular M-F hours with occasional events, and a pathway for advancement within the CAP program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field required.
• Minimum 3 years in clinical setting strongly preferred.
• BOC Athletic Trainer certification; BLS/CPR.
• Colorado DORA Athletic Trainer license; Surgical Assist license if active OR role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team to ensure quality care.
• Perform administrative tasks to maintain clinic flow.
• Conduct orthopedic evaluation and document findings under supervision; enter orders and referrals.
• Document visits in EMR (Epic); manage referrals and scheduling.
• Assist with brace fitting, casting, splinting, and bracing per provider instructions.
• Assist orthopedic surgeons during procedures; ensure instruments and sterilization.
• Educate patients on plan of care and post-operative instructions.
• Provide event coverage at outside games and tournaments.
