Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support the Urology and Urodynamics clinics in Boston. The role involves assisting clinicians during exams and procedures, coordinating patient flow, and maintaining equipment across sites.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clinician during examinations (obtain, measure, record routine information such as temperature and blood pressure)
• Work with interdisciplinary team including clinicians, social workers, child life specialist and administrative staff
• Assist clinicians during invasive and noninvasive procedures
• Transport patients, supplies and equipment as needed
• Maintain, clean and order department equipment
• Schedule, receive and/or register patients, visitors and staff
• Collect and verify required information per procedures
• Identify and report unusual findings to RN or physician
• Obtain records for appointments and enter information in computer systems
• Answer calls and perform general office support tasks
• Work Monday–Friday, 5-8 hour shifts
• Rotate to Boston and Waltham sites

Position sumamry:

This position will support both the general Urology and Urodynamics clinics.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting clinician during examinations (i.e. obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic).
• Working with interdisciplinary team including other clinical assistants, physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, child life specialist and administrative staff
• Assisting clinicians during invasive and noninvasive procedures.
• Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed.
• Maintaining, cleaning and ordering department specific equipment.
• Scheduling, receiving and/or registering patients, visitors and staff for appointments or procedures.
• Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions.
• Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse, advanced practice provider and or physician.
• Obtaining records, files and/or results for appointments and entering related information on appropriate computer systems.
• Answering, screening and routing telephone calls and performing general office support tasks.
• Working Monday-Friday, 5-8 hour shifts.
• Rotating to Boston and Waltham sites.

Minimum qualifications:

Education:

• A HS Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• 1 year of Clinical Assistant/Nursing experience.
• Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred.
• Procedural experience preferred.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
