Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support the Urology and Urodynamics clinics in Boston. The role involves clinical support, patient care, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include assisting during examinations and procedures, scheduling, patient transport, and data entry. A HS Diploma and 1 year of clinical assistant experience are required; Medical Assistant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of Clinical Assistant/Nursing experience.
• Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred.
• Procedural experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clinician during examinations by obtaining and recording routine information.
• Working with interdisciplinary team including clinicians, APPs, social workers, and admin staff.
• Assisting clinicians during invasive and noninvasive procedures.
• Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed.
• Maintaining and ordering department equipment.
• Scheduling, receiving and registering patients for appointments or procedures.
• Collecting and recording information per procedures.
• Identifying unusual findings and communicating with RN or physician.
• Entering information into computer systems for appointments and results.
• Answering calls and performing general office support tasks.
• Typically 5–8 hour shifts, Monday–Friday.
• Rotating to Boston and Waltham sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting clinician during examinations (i.e. obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic).
• Working with interdisciplinary team including other clinical assistants, physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, child life specialist and administrative staff
• Assisting clinicians during invasive and noninvasive procedures.
• Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed.
• Maintaining, cleaning and ordering department specific equipment.
• Scheduling, receiving and/or registering patients, visitors and staff for appointments or procedures.
• Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions.
• Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse, advanced practice provider and or physician.
• Obtaining records, files and/or results for appointments and entering related information on appropriate computer systems.
• Answering, screening and routing telephone calls and performing general office support tasks.
• Working Monday-Friday, 5-8 hour shifts.
• Rotating to Boston and Waltham sites.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
