Job description

SUMMARY:

The Dermatology Specialist Clinical Assistant functions as a member of the patient care team, contributing to patient health management. They perform various patient care activities and accommodative services for Clinic patients, often assisting section physicians under the supervision of the Practice Manager. The role includes maintaining responsibility for technical procedures, operation, and care of the nursing unit, and ensuring compliance with Federal and other health plans' patient management objectives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or equivalent; formal training preferred (e.g., certification from an accredited medical assisting program or medical assistant training/experience).

- Knowledge of medical terminology.

- Experience working with computers and the public.

- Typing skills of at least 55 wpm.

- CPR certification.

- Two years of medical experience.

- Excellent communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to move, position self, remain stationary, and navigate steps up to eight hours daily. Capable of lifting, moving, and transporting patients, equipment, and supplies. Good motor coordination, manual dexterity, articulate speech, reading comprehension of orders, and visual acuity are required.
