Job summary

Corewell Health in Royal Oak is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to support inpatient units during night shifts. You will assist with patient care, communicate with the care team, and help with routine clerical tasks to ensure smooth unit operations.

We value reliability, teamwork, and compassionate patient interactions. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a nursing assistant program and/or experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care by facilitating communication and completing clerical tasks essential to unit flow.
• Monitor stock levels and restock supplies as needed on the unit.
• Provide patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.

We provide broad exposure to different patient populations as we support all 36+ inpatient nursing units including adults, pediatrics, and women’s health. Culturally, we are a very close-knit group despite our size. We pride ourselves in getting to know each team member individually and we try to personally acknowledge/support individuals on our team.

Scope of work

Coordinates aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit. In addition to communication and clerical tasks, she/he monitors and stocks supplies. Provides patient care and related functions as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
