About This Role

The Department of Clinical Sciences and the Veterinary Health Center, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a part time clinical, 1-year, renewable appointment as a Small Animal Emergency Clinician (SAEC). The SAEC will work with house officers, senior students and technical staff caring for small animal patients after hours. Senior faculty will provide consultation and back-up assistance to the SAEC. In addition to clinical care, the SAEC will provide clinical and didactic instruction for senior students on ICU rotation and emergency clinical services. Evening and week-end duties are a requirement of this position and shared among the SAECs. This position represents a 100% appointment in clinical service and teaching.


The starting date is negotiable. Professorial rank is based on academic experience and accomplishments commensurate with departmental guidelines for each academic rank.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Candidates must hold a DVM degree or equivalent.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Completed internship training or three years of experience in small animal practice is preferred. Advanced training in emergency and critical care is valued but not required.
