Loyola Marymount University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor of Multimedia Arts to engage students with interactive technology and digital media practices. The ideal candidate will have an MFA or PhD, be adept in user experience design, creative coding, and possess a hybrid academic and professional background. This role involves teaching three classes a semester and contributing meaningfully to program development, all while fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
The Studio Arts Program in the Art & Art History Department at Loyola Marymount University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in Multimedia Arts starting Fall 2025. The ideal candidate is an outstanding practitioner, scholar, and educator in interactive technology and digital media, capable of engaging diverse learners at all levels of undergraduate education. Proficiency in design/digital media practices with a focus on code-based arts, interaction, and UX design is required. The candidate should be able to teach courses in digital arts, UX, and creative coding, and have experience in project-based learning within a theoretical framework.
Preferred qualifications include a hybrid academic/professional background with expertise in areas such as user experience/interface design, physical-digital integration, 3D printing, data visualization, programming for emerging technologies, net art, mobile app development, immersive media, AI, or net art. Candidates must demonstrate successful college teaching experience, scholarly/creative productivity, and submit a digital portfolio. The typical teaching load is 3 classes per semester, along with meaningful service to the program. An MFA and at least 2 years of successful teaching experience are required at hire.
