Job summary

DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, Alabama seeks a Medical Assistant to assist physicians in patient treatment, perform check-out procedures, schedule follow-ups, collect deductibles and co-pays, and obtain laboratory specimens.

You will support clerical tasks and ensure timely follow-up of scheduled events, while adhering to safety and confidentiality standards; HS diploma or GED is required, with 6 months to 1 year physician office experience preferred and CMA certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months to one year of physician office experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical or employment of patients of the clinic.
• Must follow and enforce accepted Safety practices for patients and Hospital.
• Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
• Must participate in safety instructional programs.
