Job summary

Orlando Health in Orlando, FL seeks a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager for the Bone Marrow Transplant unit. This role supports 3 x 12s night shifts, leading shift operations to ensure high-quality care and optimal patient flow within a fast-paced acute setting.

The CANM partners with Nursing Operations leadership to guide staffing, patient care assignments, and outcomes while promoting a safe, compliant, and patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; valid RN licensure in Florida or NLC; BLS required.
• 1 year RN experience; acute care setting preferred.
• Current licensure in Florida or NLC; BLS certification required.
• Certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC may be required depending on unit.
• Demonstrated leadership and clinical expertise in a high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations to ensure high-quality care and patient flow.
• Manage staffing assignments based on patient acuity and team skills.
• Coordinate patient flow with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners.
• Monitor patient status and manage care in accordance with physician orders and policies.
• Support frontline team members and providers; promote clinical collaboration.
• Participate in safety huddles and lead initiatives for performance improvement.

• Coordinates patient flow by working directly with the Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners to achieve expected outcomes.
• Monitors overall status of patients within area of responsibility and closely monitors status of seriously ill patients.
• Coordinates and/or participates in the delivery of patient care ensuring compliance with physician orders and established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.

• Supports clinical collaboration focusing on expected patient length of stay.
• Performs direct patient care activities as required to meet operational needs.
• Interfaces with patients and families to enhance customer experience by conducting Nurse Leader rounds and investigating and responding to patient/family and physician complaints.
• Participates in and/or leads safety huddles.

• Assesses equipment needs to ensure staff have the needed equipment for patient care, and they can appropriately utilize equipment.
