Job Overview
The Clinical Assistant at Key Medical Care performs administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. This full-time, non-exempt position involves facilitating provider rounding and documentation, assisting with patient and family communication. Office days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4100 Harry Hines Blvd Suite #375, Dallas, TX, 75219.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain patient history and vital signs; document in electronic medical records.
- Assist in examinations and procedures with providers.
- Document dictated patient notes.
- Answer calls and messages promptly.
- Monitor labs and X-ray results.
- Review provider schedules to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Participate in performance improvement, staff training, and team meetings.
- Report errors or issues to supervisor immediately.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical records per HIPAA standards.
- Communicate supply orders to the team.
- Handle customer inquiries, requests, and complaints; escalate complex issues appropriately.
- Provide guidance and training to staff as needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in MS Office and internet use.
- Fluent in English; bilingual skills (Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish) are a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
- Excellent listening skills and compassionate approach.
- Effective at presenting information and responding to questions.
Education / Experience
Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid Texas Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
- Associates Degree.
- 2+ years in health education, patient navigation, or healthcare assistance.
- Prior healthcare experience; CMA or RMA certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
Physical Demands
- Visual acuity, including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Regularly stand, sit, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, and operate a computer and phone.
- Occasionally lift 20-25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for typing and handling supplies.
- Ability to handle stress when assisting diverse patient populations.
Work Environment
- Low noise levels typical of interior settings.
- Work in a smoke-free environment, compliant with federal guidelines.
- Adherence to immunization and vaccination policies as required by client sites.
Additional Details
Pay: $16.50/hr
Schedule: Office days Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4100 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas, TX, 75219; occasional local travel may be required.
