Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking candidates to provide patient care management within an assigned clinic, performing clerical and clinical duties under direct supervision from a physician or nursing supervisor in clinical settings, and from a department administrator in office settings.

The role requires completion of an approved certified program for assistants in the specialty and certification by an accredited certifying agency in the specialty.

Job description

Employees in this classification provide patient care management to an assigned clinic in the areas of clerical and clinical duties. In the clinical setting, the employee receives direct supervision from a physician or nursing supervisor in either oral or written form. In the office setting, the employee receives direct supervision from the department administrator. Work is performed under usual office and clinic conditions, and may be stressful when working under emergency conditions.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty.
• Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty in which the particular work will be performed.
