Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school.
• Completion of a Medical Scribe training program (if required by department).
• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• BCLS certification from a recognized authority (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate liaison among physicians, patients, families, and care providers.
• Assist in patient flow, exams, and procedures; take vitals and relay instructions.
• Handle clerical tasks: records, lab/x-ray reports, referrals, and chart management.
• Enter orders into EMR and prepare prescription refills for physician approval.
• May perform phlebotomy duties and assist in establishing schedules and workflow.
• Provide training and mentoring to Level I Medical Assistants.
• Assist in scheduling appointments and surgeries; verify times with patients.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
