Position Overview

The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking an assistant/associate professor whose teaching and scholarly research agenda is focused on Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, and engagement in program assessment accreditation-related procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to: (i) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate courses in psychiatric mental health nursing, (ii) supervise and support student projects for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP program, and (ii)i provide service to the SON, the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations.

This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position. Candidate must hold a doctoral degree in nursing and demonstrate pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to PMHNP. Candidate must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or have eligibility to obtain a North Carolina Registered Nurse License and must hold a national certification of APRN as Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Primary Purpose of Position

Minimum Requirements	* Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in nursing. * Demonstrates pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to PMHNP
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education	Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing's educational requirement is required. Three years of clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care for Psychiatric Mental Health. Nurse Educator Certification.
