This PMHNP track lead will require professional knowledge, administrative and management skills, academic policy expertise, accreditation experience and cultural sensitivity. As track lead, the faculty will coordinate and supervise the implementation of the PMHNP track year-round through a 9-month full-time academic year contract and a supplemental summer contract.

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track lead will oversee all aspects of the development and implementation of the online graduate program. The Track Lead will collaborate with the Director of Graduate Nursing Programs on the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program plan of study, course development, and curriculum pathway. The successful candidate will be required to maintain clinical currency.

Ideal candidates will have significant experience in university settings and diverse communities and will have each of the following essential responsibilities :

  • Ensure that academic program content meets regulatory and accreditation standards.Monitor evaluation and feedback on program outcomes.Set up, observe, and regularly communicate program performance indicators.Oversee resource planning and MSN-PMHNP faculty and staff development.
  • Instruct courses with a dedication to academic excellence.
  • Support the administration and evaluation of the academic progress of students in the assigned course(s) and PMHNP program.
  • Collaborate with the School of Nursing Leadership to ensure MSN-PMHNP Program strategic and budget plan to ensure the financial well-being of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program as measured by student outcomes and enrollment.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the MSN-PMHNP program.
  • Maintain currency with PHMNP practices.
  • Serve as the MSN-PMHNP curriculum and content expert.
  • Ensures that the MSN-PMHNP track meets AACN essentials, NONPF standards, and any other standards particular to the track.
  • Participates in CCNE accreditation reports and visits.
  • Serves as the first line of contact for student academic and discipline issues in the PMHNP track and addresses the concerns in collaboration with the School of Nursing Leadership.
  • Participates in new graduate student orientation to ensure students understand clinical rules, regulations, and expectations of the graduate program.
  • Reviews the graduate student handbook annually and recommends policies that must be developed for the effective operation of the program.

The School of Nursing is housed in the College of Health (COH) along with the departments of Communication Sciences & Disorders, Health Sciences & Human Performance, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and the School of Social Work. Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing or related field required. If ABD, must have earned doctorate by August 15, 2024;
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Certification (AANP, or ANCC);
  • Current, unencumbered RN and APRN licensure in Ohio;
  • Current knowledge of nursing practice at the program level; and
  • Five (5) years of clinical practice as a nurse practitioner is require.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience leading in a team environment;
