Job Description:
The Department of Urology at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a BC/BE Urologist with clinical expertise in genitourinary reconstructive surgery. The position is at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level for a full-time, non-tenure faculty position who will enjoy a balanced academic appointment.
Background: The University of Florida (UF) Department of Urology is the premier academic urology training program in the state of Florida, located at UF Health Shands Hospital. The candidate would join a department with over 20 urologists supporting various specialties, including reconstructive surgery. The candidate would also have a joint appointment at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL.
Clinical: The clinical focus is on genitourinary reconstructive surgery. The preferred candidate would have expertise in robotic and open surgical approaches to upper and lower urinary tract reconstruction, urethral reconstruction, and urinary fistula management. We are looking for a candidate interested in organizing a multidisciplinary transitional urology practice with pediatric urology colleagues.
Research: Candidates interested in pursuing research will find excellent intramural funding opportunities. The UF College of Medicine is ranked highly for NIH research dollars awarded. Protected time for research is available for qualified candidates. Strong interest and participation in clinical trials is required.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a M.D. degree and be licensed in or eligible for licensure in Florida and be board certified or eligible.
