The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research (PTR) invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) 12-month faculty position as a Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (non-tenure-track) to serve as Director of the Infectious Disease Pharmacokinetics Laboratory (IDPL) at the University of Florida. The IDPL is a CLIA-accredited, CAP-licensed, international reference clinical and research laboratory providing therapeutic drug monitoring and clinical consults for infectious diseases including tuberculosis, HIV, and fungal infections. The candidate should have experience in a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited lab focusing on therapeutic drug monitoring, especially related to tuberculosis, HIV, and fungal infections. There are also opportunities in teaching, scholarship, and clinical research.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of the IDPL, providing clinical services at UF Health and other sites across the US and Canada. The lab operates year-round, Mon-Fri. Skills required include interpreting LC-MS/MS assay reports, focusing on quality control and potential deviations. All clinical reports (~11,000+ annually) must be reviewed with clinical recommendations. The Director will handle clinical consultations via phone and email, and support pre-clinical and clinical research trials with PK analyses using software such as Phoenix WinNonlin, Monolix, PMetrics, and BestDose. The role involves personnel management, fiscal oversight, equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and collaboration with clinical staff. Academic duties include teaching in the PharmD program, advising students, and participating in departmental activities.
