Scope and Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, promote efficient patient flow, and perform clerical tasks such as answering phones and maintaining schedules. Support adherence to US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

• Escort patients and record vital signs and patient data
• Prepare exam/treatment rooms and assist with exams and procedures
• Administer injections as delegated
• Perform administrative duties like typing, filing, and reception duties

Qualifications

Medical Assistant

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
• Current CPR Certification
• Preferred: Certified or Registered MA, or willing to obtain within 6 months
• Experience: 2-3 years preferred, oncology experience helpful

Clinical Assistant

• Current CPR Certification
• Experience: 2-3 years preferred, oncology experience helpful
• Required: Diploma or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant Program, or EMT, or CNA with 1 year of direct care experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Requires full range of motion, ability to handle and lift patients, manual dexterity, and standing/walking for extended periods. Occasionally lifts up to 40 lbs. Exposure to healthcare environment hazards may occur.
