Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a senior health IT leader to drive the planning, design, and implementation of integrated health system applications that improve patient outcomes and administrative efficiency.

This role acts as top-level consultant, coordinating multi-department initiatives, providing expert guidance on architecture, policies, and strategy, and partnering with leaders to align technology with clinical and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health.
• Six years of relevant health IT experience.
• Experience with health system applications and integration projects.

Job Description

Contributes strategic vision and serves as the top-level technical contributor for health system services in the planning, design, development, implementation, functionality, and evaluation of integrated health system information technologies that support and enhance health system practice, administrative and management needs, and patient outcomes.
Serves as a top-level health system applications consultant and resource with health system knowledge and computer expertise to coordinate and provide support for all new and current applications and software upgrades applicable to the health system. Consults on major initiatives and projects involving multiple departments, service lines, platforms, and various administrative interfaces regarding the integration of health system application technology with overall healthcare solutions.
Responsible for the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of the most complex health system information systems and solutions. Acts as a subject matter expert on health system application strategies, procedures, policies, and methodologies. Provides direction and insight to leaders, peers, and team members regarding the identification and alignment of strategic health system requirements with evolving business and healthcare opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

A college degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health and six years of relevant experience in health system applications, information technology, and/or a healthcare setting is required. Relevant experience may consist of a combination of health system operations and information technology responsibilities.
