Riverwood Healthcare Center is seeking a Clinical Application Analyst to collaborate with users of the electronic medical record, financial applications, and other healthcare IT systems to support design, build, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.

This role develops a working understanding of assigned applications and workflows, follows regulatory requirements, and serves as a liaison among clinical, operational, vendor, and IT teams to ensure reliable, user-friendly systems

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in related field; healthcare IT experience may substitute.
• Minimum 3 years in healthcare, clinical systems, or IT support.
• Clinical informatics experience preferred; Epic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensures enhancement requests are addressed in a timely fashion.
• Owns reported application issues; communicates status and escalates when needed.
• Participates in cross-application testing with system changes.
• Provides technical support and troubleshooting for EMR and related systems.

About the Position:

The Clinical Application Analyst collaborates with users of the electronic medical record, financial applications, and other healthcare technology systems to support effective system design, build, integration, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization. This role develops a working understanding of assigned applications and related workflows; follows departmental procedures, professional standards, regulatory requirements, and patient-safety expectations; and obtains required application certification when applicable. The Clinical Application Analyst serves as a liaison between clinical, operational, financial, vendor, and information technology teams to help ensure applications are reliable, user-friendly, aligned with organizational goals, and supportive of high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (others may be assigned):

• Ensures that all enhancement requests are being appropriately and adequately addressed in a timely fashion.
• Takes ownership of reported application issues, communicates status updates to customers, coordinates with senior staff or vendors when needed, and follows through until the issue is resolved or appropriately escalated.
• Participates in cross application testing with system changes, ensuring that the system changes are compatible with other applications’ workflow and processes.
• Reviews and completes new build enhancements as appropriate, utilizing resources as needed.
• Continues further education of systems and applications by collaborating with operational owners as well as senior staff.
• Provides technical support, diagnosis of application errors and troubleshooting with system issues.
• Serves as a resource person for daily operational issues within the electronic medical record.
• Embraces and promotes strong values in customer service. Seeks to understand and meet customer needs and expectations through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
• Implements applications, tools, and processes that assist operational owners with the management of data in patient care and the provision of health care.
• Assists with implementing applications, tools and processes that are utilized by operations in their day-to-day responsibilities.
• Participates in integrated area workgroups across application and operational teams. Understands application configuration options and supports decisions that align with the guiding principles and strategies of the organization.
• Provides support to the installation and implementation of system patches and version upgrades as assigned; and participates as a team member in process-improvement efforts driven by financial and clinical stakeholders.
• Maintains appropriate application access and security practices by following organizational procedures for user access, role-based permissions, confidentiality, and protection of patient and organizational information.
• Supports system downtime, issue escalation, and incident response processes as assigned, including communication with operational leaders, end users, vendors, and information technology team members.

What we are looking for:

Education and Experience:

• Two-year degree in related field. Applicable clinical, revenue cycle, information technology, or other healthcare experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 3 years relevant healthcare, clinical systems, revenue cycle, information technology, or application-support experience
• Clinical systems experience is preferred; experience with electronic medical record, revenue cycle, or financial applications is preferred. (Epic a plus)
• Clinical informatics experience, hospital, and clinic setting preferred

Certifications and Licensure:

• Valid driver's license
• Application certification or training may be required after hire based on assigned systems, vendor requirements, and departmental needs.
