Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking an Admissions Review Specialist to join our Corporate Admissions team. This role reviews clinical referrals, assesses documentation, and determines the appropriate level of care to ensure a smooth admissions process.

The ideal candidate has experience reviewing medical records, a solid understanding of ASAM Criteria, and strong communication skills to work with coordinators and clinical teams. On-site position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing clinical documentation and medical records.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, behavioral health diagnoses, and substance use disorders.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred; Associate's degree with relevant experience considered.
• Experience in substance use disorder treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review referral documentation and clinical records to determine appropriate level of care.
• Collaborate with Admissions Coordinators to support the admissions process and answer clinical questions.
• Respond promptly to referral sources regarding clinical documentation and admission status.
• Assist in reviewing medical, psychiatric, and substance use history for incoming referrals.
• Work closely with facility leadership, nursing, and clinical teams to facilitate appropriate admissions.
• Participate in regular meetings with facility clinical and medical leadership.
• Maintain a strong understanding of ASAM Criteria and evidence-based treatment recommendations.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation while maintaining compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
