Daily duties involve coordinating appointments, taking vitals, documenting history, patient education on medications and home care, assisting with exams, phlebotomy, basic lab testing, EKGs, and minor procedures under

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• 6 months experience working within a physician's office.
• Urology experience desired.
• Certification or Registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments under supervision.
• Greet and prepare patients for examinations.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Record patient interview, history and chief complaint.
• Provide patient education on medications, disease management and home care.
• Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests.
• Assist physicians with exams.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens; perform basic lab tests.
• Perform EKGs.
• Assist with X-ray and physician therapy procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications with physician authorization.
• Change dressings and assist with wound care.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Open and close the office as required.
