Job summary

Winchester Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant or nursing student for clinical support on a unit, combining patient care with administrative duties to support the care team.

The role features three 8-hour evening shifts per week with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation, and requires a high school diploma or GED, CNA certification or nursing students with clinical rotation. Strong English communication and basic computer skills are needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification or nursing student with clinical rotation.
• Three months clinical care experience required.
• Graduate of Winchester Hospital’s Clinical Associate Training Program.
• Preferred: at least one year of administrative support experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support on the unit to assist the patient care team.
• Perform basic procedures to support patient care, ADLs, vital signs, EKGs, and patient transport.
• Welcome and orient patients and families to the environment.
• Maintain accurate medical charts and document daily forms.
• Copy and fax paperwork to expedite patient care across departments if needed.

Schedule: 3, 8 hour evening shifts/week and every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• provide both clinical and administrative assistance on the unit
• perform basic procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients; assisting with ADL’s, ambulating patients, making occupied/unoccupied beds, transporting patients, collecting/labeling/transporting specimens, obtains vital signs, performs EKG’s
• Welcomes and orients patients, family members and significant others to the environment
• Provides the administrative support for the unit and staff so the patient care team can concentrate on providing superior patient care
• Maintains accurate and complete medical charts for the patients, including the forms necessary for daily use
• Copies and faxes paperwork as necessary to expedite the patient care process among the hospital departments and outside sources if appropriate

Education/Experience Required

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Must have/be one of the following:
• Certified Nursing Assistant
• Nursing student with completion of one medical-surgical clinical rotation
• Three months clinical care experience
• Graduate of the Winchester Hospital’s Clinical Associate Training Program
• Preferred: At least one year of previous work experience in an administrative support role.

Skills/Knowledge Required

• For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team
• Basic computer knowledge
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS

Pay Range: $19.50 - $26.24 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
