Job summary

Winchester Hospital is seeking a Clinical/Administrative Associate to provide clinical and administrative support on the unit in the northwest suburban Boston area. The role includes assisting with patient care, ADLs, vital signs, specimens, and maintaining medical charts, while coordinating with the care team.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, CNA certification, and completion of Winchester Hospital's Clinical Associate Training Program, with preferred prior admin experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification required.
  • Nursing student who completed one medical-surgical clinical rotation.
  • At least three months of clinical care experience.
  • Graduate of Winchester Hospital's Clinical Associate Training Program.
  • Preferred: at least one year of prior administrative support experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative assistance on the unit.
  • Perform basic procedures to support patient care, comfort and safety.
  • Assist with ADLs, ambulating patients, bed making, transporting patients, collecting/labeling/transporting specimens, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs.
  • Welcomes and/or orients patients, family members and significant others to the environment.
  • Provide administrative support for the unit so the patient care team can concentrate on patient care.
  • Maintains accurate and complete medical charts for the patients, including daily forms.
  • Copies and faxes paperwork to expedite patient care among hospital departments and outside sources if appropriate.

Job Description:

Winchester Hospital is a 5x Magnet designated, Top 10 Massachusetts recognized 223-bed regional hospital that is the leading provider of comprehensive health care services in the northwest suburban Boston area.

Schedule:

2 evenings and 1 night shift/week

As a Clinical/Administrative Associate, you will be responsible (but not limited) for the following:
  • Provide both clinical and administrative assistance on the unit
  • Perform basic procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients
  • Assisting with ADL's, ambulating patients, making occupied/unoccupied beds, transporting patients, collecting/labeling/transporting specimens, obtains vital signs, performs EKG's
  • Welcomes and orients patients, family members and significant others to the environment.
  • Provides the administrative support for the unit and staff so the patient care team can concentrate on providing superior patient care
  • Maintains accurate and complete medical charts for the patients, including the forms necessary for daily use.
  • Copies and faxes paperwork as necessary to expedite the patient care process among the hospital departments and outside sources if appropriate
Education/Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Nursing student with completion of one medical-surgical clinical rotation
  • Three months clinical care experience
  • Graduate of the Winchester Hospital's Clinical Associate Training Program
  • Preferred: At least one year of previous work experience in an administrative support role.
Skills/Knowledge Required:

For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team

Basic computer knowledge.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Basic Life Support required

Pay Range

Pay Range: $19.50 - $26.24 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
