Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Support Staff Supervisor to oversee daily clinic operations and staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management. This role will balance campus and remote work, with a 1.0 FTE exempt schedule, Monday–Friday.

The position requires healthcare experience and strong leadership, with pay tied to experience. The successful candidate will support staffing, policy development, and interdepartmental communication.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Three+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility; healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and in writing.
• Proficiency with EMR and scheduling systems.
• Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Participates in recruitment and orientation.
• Manages staff performance feedback.
• Develops staff training and delivers it.
• Oversees daily staff workload and coverage.
• Drives continuous performance improvements.
• Escalates issues surfaced by frontline staff.
• May assist in onboarding staff/providers.
• Communicates with managers and frontline staff.
• Develops policies and procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of staff responsibilities.
