Job summary

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year in security operations, current NYS Security Officer and Fire Guard certifications, and will understand procedures for evacuations and safety drills. Prior work with patients with mental illness or substance abuse is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in security operations.
• Experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders preferred.
• Current New York State Security Officer Certification.
• Current Fire Guard Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors and monitor entrants and regulate access to sensitive areas.
• Assist management in enforcing safety regulations and be aware of building exits and evacuation routes.
• Keep a sign-in roster at front desk for all visitors.
• Conduct building and grounds surveillance to detect and report safety violations.
• Monitor and document patient loitering within a four-block radius and conduct periodic fire drills.
• Maintain clear communication with management.
