Job summary

RenalCare Associates in Ottawa, IL seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join our outpatient clinic. The Clinic RN coordinates care for patients with complex needs, applying critical thinking, clinical judgment, and clear communication.

This position follows a Monday–Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays. You will triage calls, prioritize urgent vs routine issues, coordinate orders and follow-up, educate patients, and maintain EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license required.
• Prior nursing experience desired.
• Demonstrate strong critical-thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing patient needs throughout the day.
• Clear, professional communication with patients and care team.

Responsibilities

• Triage patient calls and assess symptoms and needs.
• Prioritize urgent versus routine issues using nursing judgment.
• Escalate to physician when needed and coordinate orders, meds, testing, and referrals.
• Provide patient education on medications and care plans.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain patient safety.
• Coordinate follow-up care and ensure continuity of care.
