Job summary

Firsthealth of the Carolinas is seeking a skilled RN for a fast-paced cardiology clinic role. You will deliver high-quality patient care, perform ECGs, triage calls, and coordinate referrals.

The ideal candidate holds a North Carolina RN license (BSN preferred) with cardiology clinic experience and ACLS/BLS certification. Proficiency in Epic and MS Office is expected in this busy setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with a current North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Three years clinic/medical-surgical nursing experience required; minimum two years in cardiology preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Computer skills including Epic, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with patients across ages and backgrounds.
• Demonstrates accurate physical assessment and prioritization skills.
• Displays proficiency with clinical documentation and computer systems.
• Maintains clinical and professional competency for age-specific populations.
• Obtains vital signs, 12-Lead ECGs, and reviews health information with patients; reports results.
• Triages patient calls and manages prescriptions/refills.
• Schedules appointments and processes referrals per clinic guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with a wide range of age groups, ethnic, educational and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Demonstrates physical assessment skills. Displays effective organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize with accuracy and speed.
• Demonstrates efficient computer skills within service provided.
• Exhibits effective problem solving and critical thinking skills. Maintains clinical and professional competency levels required of age-specific populations.
• Obtains basic vital signs, 12-Lead ECGs, and reviews pertinent health information with patients. Monitors lab results and reports to the physician.
• Triages patient phone calls. Manages prescription refills/requests.
• Receives incoming referrals and schedules patient appointments per clinic guidelines.
