Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification or obtained within three months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and understand English; communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality regarding patient information.
• Professional presence aligned with MercyOne Health System values.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and manage front desk responsibilities to maintain patient flow.
• Perform patient check-in and ensure admitting processes comply with policies.
• Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
• Schedule appointments according to office guidelines.
• Obtain accurate patient and insurance information, including copays and deductibles.
• Copy/scan patient-related materials into the electronic medical record.
