The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in their own plan of care, and reducing the length of hospitalization, the clinic nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.
The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
The James Diagnostic Clinic at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and care coordination for patients undergoing cancer screening, diagnostic workups, and evaluation of suspected or newly diagnosed malignancies. Clinic nurses partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate diagnostic testing, facilitate timely access to specialty services, provide patient education, and support patients throughout the diagnostic and treatment planning process. The clinic is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring seamless care coordination and timely intervention to achieve the best possible outcomes.
