The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in their own plan of care, and reducing the length of hospitalization, the clinic nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.
The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team.
The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required.
Current Ohio license or interim permit.
*Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
The Hematology Clinic at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center provides specialized outpatient care for patients with benign and malignant blood disorders, including anemia, bleeding and clotting disorders, sickle cell disease, leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.
Clinic RNs collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate complex patient care, provide education, manage treatment-related symptoms, perform triage, and support patients throughout their care journey.
This fast-paced ambulatory setting emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and continuity of care for patients with acute and chronic hematologic conditions.
