Job summary

Nebraska Medicine’s Neurosurgery Clinic seeks a Clinic Nurse to join a collaborative team delivering high-quality care for neurological conditions. You’ll support neurosurgeons, guide patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, and contribute to research and innovation in a dynamic environment.

Requirements include an ADN or Nursing Diploma, Nebraska RN license or compact state license, BLS; PALS as required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.
• Current Nebraska RN license or compact state license.
• BLS certification required; PALS as department dependent.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required.

Position Overview:

As a Clinic Nurse in Nebraska Medicine’s Neurosurgery Clinic, you’ll be part of a highly skilled, collaborative team dedicated to improving the lives of patients facing some of the most complex neurological conditions. Our clinic provides a full range of treatment options for disorders affecting the brain, spine, and nervous system, from brain tumors and aneurysms to spinal disorders and nerve injuries.

In this role, you’ll support neurosurgeons and a multidisciplinary team that combines clinical expertise, advanced technology, and a compassionate approach to care. You’ll work closely with patients and families, guiding them through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, while ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.

Job Description:

Provide and coordinate delivery of clinical resources to assure safe, high quality patient care and ensure continuity of care. Perform duties in an environment of care where the needs of a patient are short term, non-acute, and non-life threatening.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) department dependent required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Based on position, prior experience in patient nursing, specialty/primary care clinic and/or telephonics preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred.
• Proficient with use of email applications preferred.
• Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical records preferred.
• Specific to the Medical Call Center department; multi-state license preferred.
