Job summary

Nebraska Medicine’s Neurosurgery Clinic is seeking a Clinic Nurse to join a highly skilled, collaborative team delivering comprehensive care for brain, spine, and nervous system disorders. You will support neurosurgeons, guide patients and families through diagnosis and treatment, and participate in innovative care in a dynamic, team-based environment.

The role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus (eligibility required) and opportunities for tuition assistance up to $5,000/year, plus a Clarkson College

Qualifications

• ADN or Nursing Diploma required.
• Current RN license in Nebraska or a compact state.
• BLS certification required.
• PALS department dependent.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate delivery of clinical resources to assure safe, high quality patient care.
• Ensure continuity of care in a non-acute, non-life threatening setting.

Position Overview:

As a Clinic Nurse in Nebraska Medicine's Neurosurgery Clinic, you’ll be part of a highly skilled, collaborative team dedicated to improving the lives of patients facing some of the most complex neurological conditions. Our clinic provides a full range of treatment options for disorders affecting the brain, spine, and nervous system, from brain tumors and aneurysms to spinal disorders and nerve injuries.

In this role, you’ll support neurosurgeons and a multidisciplinary team that combines clinical expertise, advanced technology, and a compassionate approach to care. You’ll work closely with patients and families, guiding them through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, while ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.

Job Description:

Provide and coordinate delivery of clinical resources to assure safe, high quality patient care and ensure continuity of care. Perform duties in an environment of care where the needs of a patient are short term, non-acute, and non-life threatening.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) department dependent required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Based on position, prior experience in patient nursing, specialty/primary care clinic and/or telephonics preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred.
• Proficient with use of email applications preferred.
• Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical records preferred.
• Specific to the Medical Call Center department; multi-state license preferred.
