Description

The Clinic Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical support duties to ensure efficient clinic operations and quality patient care. This position is primarily responsible for providing front office support at the Orthopedic Clinic on Capital clinic days and serves as a float team member to provide coverage at other clinic locations as needed. Additional responsibilities include obtaining insurance authorizations, assisting with clerical and operational tasks, and performing other duties as assigned to support the organization's needs.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program preferred.

Experience

• Prefer one year's work experience in a speciality field and preferably in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.

Certification

• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Current CPR certification or obtain within 60 days of hire date.

Special Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Ability to operate computer and office equipment.
• Demonstrates excellent reading, written and communication skills.
