Ellie Mental Health-Clarkston is seeking an independently licensed clinician to serve as Clinical Manager. This is a working clinical‑leadership role requiring you to provide outpatient therapy and manage staff while guiding daily operations.

You will maintain an active caseload, ensure treatment quality, and support recruitment, onboarding, and compliance with licensing, HIPAA, and practice standards. Flexible scheduling and telehealth options are available.

Clinical Manager and Therapist - Full-Time

Ellie Mental Health-Clarkston is an independently owned practice providing in-person and telehealth care throughout Michigan. Our team is guided by authenticity, compassion, creativity, humor, acceptance, and determination.

We seek an independently licensed clinician and experienced leader to serve as Clinical Manager. This is a working clinical-leadership position - not an administrative-only role. The Clinical Manager must provide outpatient therapy, maintain an assigned caseload, and complete related clinical responsibilities while supporting staff, daily operations, quality, and practice growth.

Compensation and Caseload

This is a W-2 position with compensation reflecting both clinical and assigned management responsibilities. The compensation structure, leadership allocation, and required clinical caseload will be reviewed during the interview and documented in the offer letter.

Maintaining an active caseload is an essential function of this position. The Clinical Manager must consistently meet established client-facing expectations while reliably completing leadership duties.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Maintain the required caseload and appointment availability
• Conduct assessments, establish diagnoses, create treatment plans, and provide evidence-based psychotherapy
• Complete notes, treatment plans, risk documentation, and other records accurately and on time
• Respond to referrals, support retention, and follow up after cancellations
• Provide ethical, inclusive care within professional scope and competence

Leadership and Team Support

• Conduct biweekly clinician meetings addressing caseloads, availability, documentation, productivity, and performance
• Support accountability, professional development, employee engagement, and performance-improvement efforts
• Coordinate staff meetings, case consultation, training, and internal communication
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, performance reviews, and offboarding
• Support interns and limited-license clinicians as assigned
• Provide leadership coverage and respond promptly to staff and client concerns

Clinic Operations and Compliance

• Coordinate staffing and help ensure clinic coverage from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
• Monitor scheduling availability and support clinicians in meeting caseload expectations
• Manage operational requests, leadership task lists, facilities, supplies, workflows, and assigned projects
• Oversee Valant, scheduling tools, iPlum, the receptionist application, and related technology
• Support clinical standards, ethical care, documentation compliance, and quality improvement
• Help maintain compliance with Michigan licensing, Medicare, Ellie, HIPAA, and clinic requirements
• Conduct policy and workflow audits and help update handbooks and procedures
• Investigate and respond appropriately to client grievances
• Coordinate with billing and credentialing partners regarding enrollment, insurance aging, patient balances, and service-line corrections

Practice Growth

• Support clinician recruitment and clinic-capacity planning
• Coordinate community engagement, networking, referral development, and outreach
• Assist with marketing, social media, Uberall, newsletters, and public relations
• Monitor performance data and identify opportunities to improve access, retention, revenue, and operations
• Support grant applications, funding reports, and other approved growth initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related behavioral-health field
• Current, unrestricted Michigan clinical license in good standing, such as LMSW, LPC, LMFT, or LP
• Ability and willingness to maintain an active therapy caseload while performing management duties
• Experience with psychotherapy, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, risk assessment, and documentation
• Demonstrated leadership, organization, sound judgment, problem-solving, and follow-through
• Knowledge of Michigan behavioral-health regulations, ethical standards, HIPAA, and documentation requirements
• Ability to address performance concerns directly and professionally
• Strong communication, time-management, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and EHR systems; Valant experience is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous clinical or operational leadership experience
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding, performance management, billing, credentialing, or private-practice operations
• Experience supervising interns or limited-license clinicians
• Familiarity with Power BI, ADP, Valant, iPlum, and payer compliance
