Job summary

Vista Community Clinic in California is seeking an experienced clinic operations leader to ensure staff are trained and processes are in place to deliver high-quality patient care. You will supervise clinical and support staff and collaborate with leadership to support favorable departmental performance and patient experiences.

Responsibilities include directing the clinic, scheduling, staffing, and ensuring timely, courteous service while maintaining regulatory compliance and workflow

Qualifications

  • Minimum four years in clinical management.
  • Minimum four years in clinical systems experience.
  • CPR Certification (BLS Child, Infant, Adult)
  • Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Direct supervision of Dental Assistants, Medical Assistants, Patient Service Representatives and other clinic staff.
  • Coordinate clinic operations, schedules and patient flow to ensure timely care.
  • Ensure compliance with DHS licensing and regulations; prepare for audits/site visits.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Responsible for clinic operations, ensuring that systems and protocols are in place and that staff are properly trained. Provide direction and leadership for patient care. Collaborate with leadership to facilitate favorable department financial performance and ensure that the highest quality of care and productivity is performed. Direct and motivate staff to deliver high-quality care and exceptional patient experiences.

Supervises

Dental Assistants, Medical Assistants, Patient Service Representatives and other clinic support staff

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide direct supervision of the above-referenced employees
  • Select, orient and train employees and evaluate job performance
  • Assign job assignments and work schedules for staff and clinicians
  • Monitor appropriate time and attendance for employees and coverage arrangement for time off
  • Coordinate the function of the clinic and ensure that all patients are treated in a timely, professional and courteous manner and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure adequate coverage and mix of clinicians and support staff for clinical service delivery
  • Set up and maintain monthly clinician schedule
  • Maintain knowledge of and monitor appointment schedule; review scheduling of site daily; coordinate access to care with Clinic Managers at all sites
  • Periodically review registration paperwork to ensure that all charts, forms and reports are available prior to the patient visit
  • Observe and monitor patient flow activities throughout the day to ensure that patients are seen in a timely fashion
  • Act as an advocate for patients by communicating patient needs to staff and seek resolution to concerns
  • Maintain knowledge of all aspects of the clinic operations and the duties of staff
  • Update employees on all clinic programs by providing information, direction and monitoring of procedural changes
  • Monitor "Failed Appointments" and follow up according to protocol
  • Record and report any unusual occurrences or incidents; utilize the "variance report" correctly
  • Prepare productivity, goals & objectives and other pertinent reports on a timely basis
  • Communicate between all shifts to ensure that all instructions are followed
  • Arrange and conduct staff meetings on a regular basis
  • Participate in Operations related meetings and serve on various committees as assigned
  • Take part in clinic activities to increase employee morale and maintain a good, humored perspective
  • Be available as a resource person for all staff and patients
  • Assist with the development of protocols and policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with DHS licensing and regulations
  • Assist in the preparation of the clinic for audits and site visits
  • Arrange for equipment repairs and ensure calibration is done according to schedule
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature review, in-service meetings and workshops
  • Support the vision, mission and goals, and demonstrate a commitment to the values of the organization
  • Perform other duties as directed
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum four years’ experience in clinical management experience
  • Minimum four years’ experience and training in clinical systems
  • CPR Certification (BLS Child, Infant, Adult)
  • Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant or LVN certification/experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of community health centers, and public assistance programs, state and federal regulations and managed care systems
  • Strong experience with computers, Microsoft Office products, business e-mail communication systems and internet search capabilities

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Experience/familiarity with Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records systems, NextGen preferred

Pay Rate

  • $82,000 - $92,000 Depending On Experience
