Job summary

The University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH seeks a Clinic Manager to direct clinical operations, ensure policy and accreditation compliance, and supervise nursing, medical assisting, and registration teams. This leadership role also drives quality improvement and manages facility resources on a day-to-day basis.

The successful candidate will oversee infection control, clinical scheduling in the EHR, and staff credentialing, while collaborating with the Business Director on budget and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited school in an approved nursing program.
  • Current NH nursing license.
  • Minimum three years ambulatory health care management experience, including adolescent/young adult services.
  • Advanced supervisory skills.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization meets policy and accreditation standards.
  • Responsible for facility cleanliness and infection control.
  • Medical laboratory process oversight.
  • Management of medical supplies.
  • Oversight of clinical schedule in EHR including adjustments as needed.
  • Supervision and management of RN, MA, and registration staff.
  • Ensures clinic teams are adequately staffed and functioning smoothly daily.
  • Handles staff concerns and orientation of new clinical staff support members.
  • Provides input to Medical Director for clinician staffing.
  • Assists in handling public health issues in the University community.
  • Member of the Leadership Team.
  • Chairs the Quality Improvement/Safety Committee and serves on other committees.
  • Overseeing annual QI reports; creates/updates policies and procedures; develops protocols for infection control.
  • Oversees accreditation process for Health & Wellness.
  • Checks patients in and out for clinicians.
  • Arranges referrals, immunizations, ECGs, spirometry, IV fluids, observations; health education.
  • Facilitates communication between patients and clinicians re test results, visits, questions.
  • Addresses patients' concerns.
  • Assists with registration, scanning, referrals, and prior authorizations.

Job description

The Clinic Manager oversees clinical operations and facility utilization (including medical level cleanliness and infection control), including supervision of nurses, medical assistants, and registration. Ensures clinical competencies, credentialing, clinical policy oversight in accordance with accreditation requirements, clinical processes, oversight of medical supplies, medical laboratory processes, patient flow, quality improvement, and departmental budget management in collaboration with the Business Director. Represents and acts on behalf of the Medical Director in their absence. Full member of H&W Leadership Team. Represents H&W on various University committees/task forces.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management of the clinic, including patient scheduling and flow and quality improvement.

  • Handles clinical support staff and registration staff’s concerns.
  • Develops and/or reviews clinical staff competencies and ensures clinical staff members are appropriately skilled and credentialed.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and orienting new clinical staff support members.
  • Provides input to Medical Director for clinician staffing.
  • Assists in handling any public health issues that arise in the University community.
  • Member of the Leadership Team.
  • Chairs the Quality Improvement/Safety Committee and serves on various other committees within and outside of Health & Wellness.
  • Responsible for various annual QI reports; accountable for creating and updating policies and procedures; develops and/or reviews protocols and procedures for the building-wide infection control program.
  • Responsible for overseeing the accreditation process for Health & Wellness.
  • Checks patients in and out for clinicians.
  • Arranges referrals, gives immunizations, performs ECGs and spirometry, administers IV fluids, monitors patients in observation beds, and provides health education on various topics.
  • Facilitates communication between patients and clinicians re: test results, setting up visits, relaying questions and advice, etc.
  • Addresses and responds to patients' concerns.
  • Assists with registration, scanning, referrals, and prior authorizations.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree from an accredited school in an approved program of professional nursing.
  • Possession of a current license to practice nursing in the State of New Hampshire.
  • Minimum three years of ambulatory health care management experience, including adolescent/young adult services.
  • Advanced supervisory skills.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with electronic health records.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Management, Nursing, or related field

Compensation Pay Range: $66,480.00 - $118,860.00
