Job Summary --LPN

The LPN performs administrative duties that include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records. Clinical duties will include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics and medical information including review of medication list, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. This position will involve the administration of medications as ordered by the physician. Performs specific competencies as directed by the department.

Job Requirements--LPN

  • Education
    • Required: Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program
  • Experience
    • Required for Float Pool: 1 year primary care experience

Preferred: Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting

  • Skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
    • Carry out delegated tasks as directed by supervisors or with provider oversight.
    • Proficient computer skills.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri.
    • Required: Must obtain American Heart Association BLS within 90 days of hire.
    • Preferred: IV certification in the State of Missouri.

Job Summary—MA III

Perform administrative duties that might include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records under the direct supervision of a supervisor or provider. Clinical duties will include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics or medical information including review of medication list, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. Depending on location and training, the MA III may draw blood or perform waived testing on specimens. This position will involve the administration of medications.

Job Requirements—MA III

  • Education
    • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Graduated from a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship.
  • Experience
    • Required: None
    • Preferred: Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people.
    • Preferred: Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
    • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider.
    • Proficient computer skills.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
    • Required: Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.
