Performs clinical duties, such as taking vital signs, assisting with minor procedures, blood pressure, and point of care testing.
Assists physicians with clinical procedures, including injections/aspirations, casting, wound management, verifying and preparing medications, and prepping the patient.
Prepares charts for upcoming clinics and retrieves and enters patient data for MRIs, X-Rays, EMGs, etc.
Coordinates surgery scheduling as needed and ensures timely rooming of patients to maintain clinic flow.
Receives and returns patient calls promptly, records accurate and complete documentation in the patient’s medical record, and provides patient education related to treatment recommendations.
Assists with ordering medications and diagnostic testing, scribes for physicians and physician assistants, and completes patient paperwork in a timely manner.
Follows procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous, infectious, and pharmaceutical waste.
Prepares, cleans, sterilizes, and/or reprocesses instruments and maintains equipment according to organizational standards.
Anticipates and proactively plans for practitioner and patient needs while providing timely communication to patients, families, and practitioners.
Reports pertinent observations to appropriate staff and assists in the orientation of new team members.
Maintains necessary certifications and licensure, including first aid and/or CPR, state licensure, and national certifications.
Stays updated on required trainings such as OSHA and Medicare fraud/waste training.
Maintains strict patient confidentiality and follows all HIPAA guidelines.

High School Diploma or GED, required.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or ability to obtain Registered Orthopedic Technician (ROT) certification within 6 months of hire, required.
One year of experience in a similar role, preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites, preferred.
Working environment is in an office/clinic setting.
Stand, walk, sit for extended periods; sit, stoop, and kneel; excellent vision, hearing, smell, and balance; requires lifting, carrying, or moving heavier objects (i.e., pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds); possess full range of motion in shoulders and arms, including reaching above or below the shoulder.
