Job summary

American Oncology Network seeks a Finance Manager to lead Financial Counselors across clinics, oversee patient collections, and ensure reimbursement aligns with drug costs. You will train staff on collection policies and supervise performance for multiple locations.

Role requires strong communication, AR management experience, and willingness to travel to clinics within the Lone Star region to support financial operations.

Qualifications

• Five (5) plus years of experience as FC, and/or medical field/practice business office with prior experience in the collection of self-pay and insurance accounts, at management level.
• Internal two (2) plus years Team Lead, Financial Counselor experience will be considered.
• Strong, demonstrated verbal communication skills in dealing with patients’ financial matters.
• Experience in accounts receivable management required.
• Experience managing employees across multiple locations is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Review daily clinic collections in each office to ensure that patient financial responsibilities are paid at the time of service.
• Compile clinic collection data into a monthly spreadsheet for the CEO and Director of Patient Business Services.
• Provide training to Patient Service Specialists on collection techniques.
• Assist Financial Counselors in negotiating discounts and payment arrangements with self-pay patients.
• Meet with patients to resolve account issues related to large managed care costs.
• Respond to patient concerns regarding the company’s collection policy.
• Ensure drug guidelines are followed and advise physicians on off-label use when needed.
• Work with Office Managers to resolve collection or managed care issues in clinics.
• Report trends affecting collection activity to the Assistant Director of Patient Business Services.
• Review weekly A/R reports and daily work to ensure policy updates are followed.
