Job description

Heart of Purpose & Journey Leader (Center Director)

The Center Director is a full-time (40 hours per week) salaried position. The Center Director reports directly to the VP of Clinical Operations and serves as the primary point of contact for clinical and operational needs within the center. The Center Director, under the direction of the VP of Clinical Operations, will be responsible for the development, monitoring, and revision of quality standards and measurement systems throughout the center and the organization as a whole. Working hours for the Center Director are, generally, Monday-Friday from 8am-6pm; however, at times (based on organization needs), the Center Director may be asked to work outside of those hours.

Success Measures

The Center Director will be evaluated based on the performance of the center as a whole, with a monthly scorecard which outlines success measures for the position and the center. Success measures will include productivity, quality, and satisfaction measures to evaluate center-based performance.

Qualifications
  • Location
    • This is a full-time in-person position, with the potential for hybrid arrangements when staffing permits. Applicants must reside within driving distance to Baltimore, Maryland.
  • Education
    • Master’s degree or higher in education, psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field.
  • Certification
    • Current, active certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D)
    • Preferred: 5+ years holding board-certification
    • Current, active license to practice ABA in the state of Maryland (Maryland LBA)
  • Work Experience
    • A minimum of 5 years serving in a supervisory role, creating and overseeing behavior-analytic programs
    • Experience assessing, teaching, and creating treatment plans for learners of various ages and ability levels
    • Preferred: 2+ years of leadership experience in center-based ABA settings.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of CPT codes relevant to the provision of ABA services, including codes, service(s) that can be provided under each code, and restrictions.
    • Knowledge of Medical Necessity Criteria for various health plans, including how to write compliant treatment plans.
    • Knowledge and experience implementing various assessment tools for evaluating challenging behavior and current adaptive functioning levels.
      • Preferred: Experience training staff on the use (including implementation and program development) of assessment tools.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to align cross-functional teams on common goals and desired outcomes.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Preferred: Proficiency using Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
Job Duties
  • Assist in the development of the clinical model for center-based services, including all planning and coordination in preparation for the launch of center-based services.
  • Responsible for oversight of all center-based team members, including Supervising BCBAs, Behavior Analysts in Training, Behavior Technicians, and administrative staff.
  • Serve as RBT Requirements Coordinator for all Registered Behavior Technicians in the center, ensuring that all initial and ongoing supervision requirements are met.
  • Serve as Consulting Supervisor for Supervising BCBAs providing fieldwork supervision in their first year of certification, where applicable.
  • Monitor center-wide and employee-specific KPIs and quality metrics, creating and monitoring effectiveness of interventions for areas that fall below GOJ Quality Standards.
  • Develop and implement Success Plans for center-based staff, when required.
  • Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with funding sources, families, and community members as the primary contact for GOJ Center-Based services.
  • Complete reviews of clinical documentation including treatment plans, behavior intervention plans, data, and session notes, ensuring all clinical documentation is consistent with A Gem of Joy ABA Quality Standards.
  • Complete monthly, 90-day, and annual performance reviews for all BCBA-level employees within the center.
  • Track and monitor completion of monthly success measures, 90-day reviews, and annual performance reviews of all RBT-level employees within the center (completed by supervising BCBA).
  • When needed, complete initial assessments for new clients.
  • When needed, provide authorized medically necessary treatment to learners in the center, holding a reduced caseload.
  • Assist the VP of Clinical Operations with organizational quality initiatives, managing tasks and projects and monitoring the impact on service delivery.
  • Perform other administrative duties, as assigned.
