Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System is seeking a patient care assistant to support clinical teams. You will initiate patient care, gather vital signs, prepare exam rooms for procedures, and collect specimens while assisting coworkers and physicians as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of certified medical assistant program, Huntsville Hospital Patient Care Tech program or CNA preferred.
• CNA or LPN license preferred; BLS must be obtained within orientation.
• Minimum of one year experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Initiates patient care and prepares the patient and exam room for procedures.
• Gathers vital signs and collects specimens.
• Assists coworkers and providers as needed.
• Draws blood and supports phlebotomy duties as needed.
