Job summary

UNC Health Appalachian is seeking a Surgical Group Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Boone clinic. You will guide patients through the surgical journey, from preoperative assessments to postoperative care, delivering specialized nursing support that promotes safety and a positive care experience.

Work closely with surgeons and the interdisciplinary team to educate patients and families, coordinate care, and ensure seamless transitions throughout the perioperative process in a clinic-based

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in a surgical or wound care clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preoperative assessments for patients scheduled for surgical procedures.
• Provide specialized wound care management and monitor wounds.
• Coordinate scheduling of surgical procedures and communicate with surgeons.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments and ensure compliance with policies.
• Advocate for patients and collaborate with the care team to ensure quality perioperative care.
