Job summary

Fort Defiance Indian Hospital Board, Inc. seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care, data entry in EHR/RPMS, and patient education. You will assist with exams, prepare charts, and help coordinate appointments while maintaining HIPAA compliance and accurate records.

The ideal candidate has one year of direct patient care experience, completes an accredited training program, and holds or is pursuing EMS credentials with BLS certification. Navajo preference applies where eligible.

Qualifications

• One year of direct work experience in medical support roles.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or active EMS credentials.
• Current BLS certification and ability to provide degree, transcripts, license and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care, document vitals and histories, and enter data into EHR/RPMS.
• Prepare charts, assist with exams, and direct patients to appropriate departments.
• educate patients on specified medical issues and provide discharge instructions.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate medical records and data input.
