Qualifications

• 1+ year recent experience as a clinic assistant in a physician office or hospital setting or completion of a medically related training program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days if hired by NM; day-one if in Academic Medical System
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient treatments under supervision of a healthcare provider
• Perform basic tasks, screening procedures and specimen collection
• Screen for and communicate changes in patient condition
• Document patient care provided
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies, reorder stock, clean and troubleshoot as needed
• Maintain examination area
• May perform clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, billing, and patient registration
• Present a friendly, professional demeanor and appearance
• Refer to Scope of Practice Inventory for RN, LPN, MA and CA as indicated
