Job Summary:

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS). The successful candidate will:

  • Devote full-time effort to direct patient care in the clinic (outpatient) and inpatient settings.
  • Provide six sessions a week (three days) of direct patient care at our Empire location and provide teaching and supervision of residents and medical students four sessions (two days) a week, while participating in the department's inpatient service.
  • Contribute to the growth and revenue of Family and Community Medicine at Empire; our goal is to increase visit volume to 15,000.
  • As the clinician, solely dedicated to clinical care will increase UHD patient volume, patient panels, access and revenue.
  • Supervise resident and medical student clinical care and provide direct patient care, which will give our patients the option of seeing a physician outside of the teaching physician setting.
  • Help to maintain our quality metrics, value-based revenue programs and improve patient experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • New York State Medical License (DO/MD).
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
  • Ongoing clinical activity.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
