Job Summary
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker 3 (CSW 3) is the lead medical social worker at the UCSF Women’s HIV Program. This role includes clinical and leadership tasks. The CSW 3 provides psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, brief therapeutic interventions, group facilitation, consultation and clinical supervision, education, community linkages and supportive services for identified patients, families, and staff. Additionally, the CSW 3 assigns new patients to provider and social worker panels, reviews intake assessments, coordinates psychiatric visits, tracks and addresses no-shows and patients who are not following up with their care team and develops team policies and procedures. The CSW 3 demonstrates cultural sensitivity in working with patients regardless of race, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, cultural beliefs, sexual orientation, etc. The CSW 3 demonstrates ability to work with medically and psychiatrically complex patients in a trauma-informed manner.
