Summary:
This role is an hourly position, typically used for part-time and PRN assignments, serving as an alternative to exempt roles. The dietitian provides nutritional information, participates in interdisciplinary teams, and offers nutritional services through monitoring, assessment, calculations, recommendations, and education. Ensures patients, families, staff, and the community receive the best nutritional information available.
Responsibilities:
* Provide nutritional monitoring, assessment, calculations, recommendations, and education for patients. Serve as a nutritional resource for the hospital, staff, patients, families, and the community. May write nutrition orders per medical nutrition therapy protocols. At Our Children’s House only, may write TPN and lab orders per protocols.
* Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with patients, families, staff, and the community.
* Complete administrative tasks, such as phone calls, emails, ongoing competencies, etc.
* Attend meetings, participate in committees, contribute to projects, and give presentations.
How You'll be Successful:
WORK EXPERIENCE
* Minimum 1 year of relevant job-specific experience (preferred)
* For End Stage Renal Disease: at least 1 year of professional clinical dietetics experience after becoming a registered dietitian (excluding internship). (Required)
EDUCATION
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Required)
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* State Dietetic License (e.g., LD - Licensed Dietitian) within 90 days (Required)
* National Dietetic Registration (e.g., RD - Registered Dietitian) within 90 days (Required)
* National Provider Identification Number (NPI) within 90 days (Required)
