Parkwest Medical Center, Covenant Health’s flagship facility in West Knoxville, seeks a Registered Nurse for Orthopedic-Neuro and Bariatric care on a day shift. Provides professional nursing care on an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

New graduates may start within the first year of orientation; Tennessee RN license and CPR are required. Parkwest emphasizes safe, high-quality patient care and collaboration with the healthcare team.

• Participates on unit-based committees.
• Demonstrates competence in delivering age-appropriate care.
• Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters.
• Follows policies, procedures and safety standards; participates in quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing history and initiates patient education.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members.
• Implements plan of care appropriate to diagnosis. Evaluates care outcomes.
• Problem solves and coordinates unit/patient care assignments, with supervision.
• Introduces new employees/students to unit routines.
• Participates on unit-based committees.
• Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills (checklist) to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs and sitters.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience:

New graduate, within first (1st) year of orientation (move to level II after one (1) Year experience).

Licensure Requirement:

Must have and maintain Tennessee State RN license. CPR required.
