Job summary

Exos is seeking a Climbing Wall & Sports Associate in a hybrid role. You will supervise the climbing wall during open hours, conduct belay checks, issue certifications, fit safety gear, and maintain equipment.

You’ll lead introductory classes, youth programs, and group events, plus drive league participation and handle registration and front desk tasks. A CPR/AED/First Aid certification and climbing experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, or Outdoor Education-related field.
• Outgoing personality and excellent communication skills.
• Superior customer service skills.
• A current CPR/AED & First Aid certification.
• Indoor or outdoor climbing experience.
• Experience officiating, coaching, or organizing recreational sports leagues (preferred).
• Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the climbing wall during open hours, monitoring climbers for safe practices.
• Conduct climber orientations and belay checks, verify waivers, issue belay certifications.
• Fit and check harnesses, helmets, and climbing shoes; manage rental equipment.
• Belay climbers and operate auto-belays per guidelines.
• Perform inspections of wall, holds, ropes, harnesses, and auto-belays; document findings.
• Remove damaged equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Assist with setting and resetting routes; maintain holds.
• Lead introductory climbing classes, youth programs, and group events.
• Respond to incidents, administer first aid, and complete incident reports.
• Develop and promote sport league participation; manage registrations and rules.
• Expand and offer more leagues; supervise participants.

Job Summary

We're seeking a Climbing Wall & Sports Associate to join our team. This hybrid role supports both our recreational sports leagues and our rock climbing wall.

You will:

• Supervise the climbing wall during open hours, monitoring climbers to ensure safe practices and adherence to wall rules.
• Conduct climber orientations and belay checks, verify waivers, and issue belay certifications to qualified participants.
• Fit and check harnesses, helmets, and climbing shoes; check out and track rental equipment.
• Belay climbers as needed and operate auto-belay systems according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of the wall, holds, ropes, harnesses, carabiners, and auto-belays, and document all findings in the safety log.
• Remove damaged or worn equipment from service and report maintenance needs to supervisors.
• Assist with setting and resetting routes, and cleaning and maintaining holds.
• Lead introductory climbing classes, youth programs, birthday parties, and group or team-building events.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies, administer first aid, and complete incident reports.
• Develop, drive, and promote sport league participation.
• Distribute and collect registration forms, create and distribute league rules, create teams, referee games, prepare and maintain fields.
• Expand and offer more leagues.
• Supervise and monitor exercise and recreation participants.
• Perform administrative tasks associated with facility operations, including scheduling, registration, waiver management, and front desk support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $24 - $26/hour. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs.
